Institution des Collines

The École des Collines is a preschool for children from 1 to 6 years old; the Institution des Collines is a learning centre for all ages.

Our aim is to give a new alternative for children in a bilingual French and English environment, to learn and grow through new pedagogic approaches. The foundations of École des Collines are built on the French and British education systems, in addition, we feel it paramount to integrate the education systems of additional multilingual countries such as Switzerland, Canada and Belgium. Italian, German and Mandarin languages are available options. We follow the lines of Sir Ken Robinson and we embrace some of the educational philosophies of Montessori, Céline Alvarez, Regio Emilia and Ovide Decroly.

At the École des Collines, we provide parents with a service for children in a privileged environment in the heart of Thao Dien - District 2 of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, at flexible and extended hours. It provides parents with more time and freedom for their professional or personal projects.

Today’s greatest challenge, for all of us, is to adapt to the constant changes in our world. People born in early 2000s, will commonly live past 2100 and children starting school in 2020 will start retiring around 2080; and yet, nobody knows how the world will become. Parents and educators have the responsibility to prepare this young generation to a "ture nobody can predict…

And while this uncertainty may seams daunting, it is also equally exciting. For those well prepared, this future will bring numerous new opportunities and rewarding challenges.

At the Institution des Collines, we have decided to educate our young students - we call them “residents” - to remain avid thinkers, free minds, curious and aware of those changes in their environment. As educators, it means recognizing the very nature of the children, since for most of them, they are born this way. Our methods and curriculum allow our residents to develop their skills while keeping these incredible natural qualities.

At the Institution des Collines, we offer our residents, their parents, caretakers and educators with an environment where they will be free to develop their own talents, yet learning how to use the tools they will need for their future.
